To The Moon and Back!

The past two weeks the Highland Catholic Preschoolers have been learning about space, the planets, and Neil Armstrong.  We love singing "The Planet Song" by Bryant Oden.  We landed safely back on earth after many fun projects, imaginary play, and song filled days.

Artsy Ice Sculptures

The 3/4 Class created awesome ice sculptures out of containers filled with colored ice.  The containers were all sizes and shapes and some were filled with pine needles, money, glitter, and fruit.  The children loved creating scuptures out of the frozen water.  The energy level was high while the children created their frozen masterpieces!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.

Oh, Where is the Green Sheep?

We have started our unit on Mem Fox!  Her books are filled with rich language and rhyming words that every preschooler loves to hear over and over again.  Today the children listened to Where Is The Green Sheep? by Mem Fox.  The preschoolers painted green sheep using green paint and cotten balls.

Candy Cane Eruptions!

The room was filled with the smell of peppermint as our preschoolers conducted a science experiement.
Science is fun...especially when you mix peppermint, baking soda, and vinegar!
